With over 50 years of experience in building hardwood furniture, if you envision it, we will build it!! Send us your plans, photos, hand written notes, verbal descriptions or WHATEVER you have in order to communicate what you would like. We will do the rest!! Wood options include pine, maple, oak, poplar, cherry, catalba, birch, hickory and wormy chestnut direct from our sawmill. Other wood varieties are available from alternate sources. WE SPECIALIZE IN EARLY AMERICAN AND ANTIQUE REPLICAS.
It began as my being an experimental furniture builder, only making small pieces for our home. Year by year, I found myself making more challenging pieces until I discovered I may have found my niche in life.
Years later after my wife and I built a new log home and barn on several acres, it was necessary to clear land for its landscape. As a furniture maker, I was saddened to think of all the valuable wood that was about to be hauled away and never be seen in the beauty of a fine piece of furniture. That was the moment I realized that my dream of furniture making from conception to completion could become a reality. I enlisted the services of a local mobile saw mill and had the timber cut into lumber. Utilizing the space in my newly constructed barn, the lumber was then stickered, stacked and air dried to a moisture content favorable for making fine furniture.
Since that time, I've enjoyed expanding my woodworking equipment and experimenting in various furniture design and building. In doing so, I was successful in moving to the next level by adding a permanent sawmill in order to produce my own lumber.
FAST FORWARD - My wife and I are now in the prime of our retirement and have teamed together to haul logs, cut into lumber, stack and air dry. Once dried to the appropriate moisture level, each piece is crafted into beautiful pieces of furniture which are sold as unfinished, stained or painted. Whether it's by special order or purchased from our vendor booth at The Just Plain Country Store in Walnut Cove, NC, you can be assured that each piece is of solid wood construction that will last for generations.
As you will see from the photos within this site, your options are endless. And we absolutely LOVE challenges so give us your unique request(s) and allow us the opportunity to be creative and make your dream piece of furniture become a reality!
We pride ourselves in making our customers happy. In fact, if there is ever a situation where you special order a piece of furniture and we fail to produce a piece that meets your expectations, you are NOT obligated to purchase it. It's that simple.
